Jesús de Chamberí is the second album by Spanish folk metal band Mägo de Oz, which was released in 1996. The album that made Mägo de Oz popular in Spain - a rock opera about a modern-day Jesus in Madrid, and the start of the band's trend of heavily criticizing the Catholic Church. But after all it’s Mägo de Oz, and anyone dealing with this act should expect a certain level of weirdness or, to put it more clearly, idiocy. This opus is often going in so many directions its overall mood becomes really hard to describe. Indeed, it’s all about Jesus, but this so-called Jesus has little to do with the one described in the Gospels, and there’s no preaching bullshit to be expected. These fourteen songs all blend in a strange mixture of frantic delirium, insane high-pitched vocals, Irish folklore, pompous and out-of-place orchestrations (the end of Judas for instance), touching.

Rock opera has been a feature of all of their albums from Jesús de Chamberí onwards. Mägo de Oz embarked on "The Riiiichal Tour", which consisted of 115 dates, their longest to that point. To mark the success of La leyenda de La Mancha, and to mark their tenth anniversary, the band released a documentary about themselves entitled "Resacosix en Hispania", in 1999, later released on DVD in 2004.
