Musician: Don Barrett Album: Misty Blue Released in: 1976 Label: Reprise Records. Misty blue dorothy moore. ca I would very appreciate, I have a new Bass and I am a beginner. thank you jd. m m 2019-05-24 17:26:08 PDT. dangerously beautiful.

A pivotal moment in the development of southern soul – as the album was one of the first really big hits to come out of the growing Malaco scene in Jackson, Mississippi. The style of the record is a mix of older female southern soul styles, plus some of the warmer mellow production that was coming out of the Alston/Miami scene at the same time. And although Malaco mostly moved into cheesy blues during the early 80s, this one’s very much in a popular crossover soul style. The bicentennial-year (1976) Southern soul ballad, Misty Blue, by Jackson, Mississippi’s Dorothy Moore for the Jackson, Mississippi Malaco label was and is significant in a number of ways. For one thing, its success most likely saved Malaco Records from going under financially at that time - and here we are, 38 years later, and they’re still going strong.

Written-By – B. Montgomery. B1. Enough Woman Left (To Be Your Lady). Written-By – Carson Whitsett. Misty Blue ‎(LP, Album).

Misty Blue" is a song written by Bob Montgomery that has been recorded and made ful by several music artists. Although Montgomery wrote the song for a different artist in mind, it was brought first to the attention of Wilma Burgess in 1966. It was subsequently recorded by Eddy Arnold the following year, whose version became more successful.
