David Newman - The Many Facets Of David Newman album mp3

The sessions that resulted in Bigger & Better feature Newman with a string section and studio musicians for forgettable versions of two Beatles songs, a pair of Sam Cooke R&B pieces and a couple of lesser items. The Many Facets of David Newman is less poppish and more blues-oriented with the lengthy "Children of Abraham" showing some passion, but overall the material is rather weak and has not aged very well. Skip this set in favor of Newman's more recent efforts. John Lennon, Paul McCartney. David "Fathead" Newman. 3. The Thirteenth Floor. 4. Ain't That Good News.
David "Fathead" Newman (February 24, 1933 – January 20, 2009) was an American jazz and rhythm-and-blues saxophonist who made numerous recordings as a session musician and leader, but is best known for his work as a sideman on seminal 1950s and early 1960s recordings by singer-pianist Ray Charles
The Many Facets Of David Newman. 2008 Original Motion Picture Score. 2002 Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.
David "Fathead" Newman made his name as the standout tenor saxophonist in the Ray Charles Band for 20 years, and seven of the 27 tracks in this set feature Newman echoing Charles's jazzy R&B vocals or piano riffs. Other tracks find Newman blowing behind R&B singers Zuzu Bollin, Aretha Franklin, Jimmy Scott, Dr. John, and Aaron Neville. Specifically, track & from "Bigger and Better" while track is from "The Many Faces of David Newman". Tracks from "The Weapon" and from "Heads Up" put David in a smaller group setting. The remainder of the tracks feature David's valuable solos in support of Aretha Franklin (track "Soul & Jimmy Scott (track "The Source"), Dr. John (track "In A Sentimental Mood"), and Aaron Neville (track "Orchid In The Storm").
