The Marche slave (French pronunciation: ) in B-flat minor, Op. 31, is an orchestral tone poem by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky published in 1876. It celebrated Russian intervention in the Serbo-Turkish War. The Marche slave was published as Slavonic March or Serbo-Russian March (Serbian: Српско-руски марш, Srpsko-ruski marš; Russian: Сербско-русский марш, Serbsko-russkiy marsh) or Slavic March (Serbian: Словенски марш, Slovenski marš; Russian: Славя́нский марш, Slavyánskiy marsh).

Dutoit was born in Lausanne, Switzerland, studied there and graduated from the Conservatoire de musique de Genève, where he won first prize in conducting. Then he went to the Accademia Chigiana in Siena by the invitation of Alceo Galliera. In his younger days, he frequently attended Ernest Ansermet's rehearsals and had a personal acquaintance with him. He also worked with Herbert von Karajan at Lucerne as a member of the festival youth orchestra and studied with Charles Munch at Tanglewood. All compositions by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
