Dark Light is the fifth studio album by Finnish gothic rock band HIM. Released on 26 September 2005, HIM began recording the album in March 2005 at the Paramour Estate is Los Angeles, California, with producer Tim Palmer, who had also mixed the band's previous album Love Metal. Dark Light also served as HIM's first worldwide release with Sire Records, with whom the band had signed with in September 2004. In Finland, however, the album was released under the band's own label Heartagram.
When the album was released, it was an immediate commercial and critical success (even though the band went out of its way not to promote it), and a happy marriage of acclaimed music and memorable artwork. The covers made for brilliant images to display in record store windows. The prisms adorning the front and back inspired record stores to display copies of the albums in various combinations, such as images of repeating prisms interlocking. Like all good art, the cover (not to mention the music) remains open to interpretation - a dark, impenetrable symbol of the enduring power of music. Follow me on Twitter at davidjdeal.
Melancholic Metal - Official page (2012-present). This album is actually the 3rd full-length release after 4 years. Many things changed since then! The project started as a pretty grim depressive rock band but then changed to positive yet slightly melancholic sound. This album is something in between. Lyrically it's mostly positive and hope-giving. As the songs were composed between November-May, my life has seen lots of unexpected changes (fortunately, for the best)
Minneapolis-based chamber-folk sextet Dark Dark Dark revel in the wonder that is around us always. On their breathtaking sophomore album Wild Go, which arrives October 5, 2010 via Supply and Demand Music, the band has created a stirring reminder to seek out that magic. Their dramatic sound sets Nona Marie Invie’s soaring, haunting voice against age-old instrumentation that evokes the soundtrack to a beautiful film.

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fanstasy is Kanye’s long-awaited opus, a work of art that sees him finally reach the potential that was clear for all to see in College Dropout. Kanye’s best album since The College Dropout, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy finds its creator in complete control of the chaos swirling inside his vivid imagination. I almost had no appreciation for lyrics, even up until recently. I had this album at an 8/10 for a while, maybe due to myself.

Luttrell just announced the release of his debut album Into Clouds coming February 1st on Anjunadeep with the release of its first single, Quiet Even Dark. This song features Eric’s own vocals threaded into a thick synthwave tapestry of ’80s-era goodness. There’s far more raw vulnerability in the lyrics and in his voice than we’re normally accustomed to in trance music that gives this song an almost indie feel. Most importantly, though, it’s got a righteous hook that builds and builds as Quiet Even Dark ascends into new realms of progressive house heaven. Some moments are flying high above it all, some are dreamy or whimsical, and some moments are more pensive, delicate or even vulnerable. I want listeners to make this album their own and attribute their personal experiences and feelings to the music. We seriously cannot wait. Check out the tracklist and get Quiet Even Dark below.
