The album yielded the million-selling hit single "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love", written by Gerry Goffin and Michael Masser. Tonight, I Celebrate My Love" (3:29) - (Gerry Goffin, Michael Masser). Blame It on Me" (4:12) - (Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager). Heaven Above Me" (4:34) - (Bob Gaudio, Bob Crewe).
The album mixed the technique and spirit of the Dust Brothers and transported it from the urban street to an open field far somewhere far from civilization, some place where everyone is dressed colorfully and they’re either on MDMA or they remember their days taking it fondly. The Avalanches are all about feel. And Wildflower, though it misses some of its predecessor’s thematic unity and from-nowhere sense of surprise, has that feel in spades

Is Wildflower the best album of the year? Probably not. But it was made by one of the most influential artists of our generation. The hard work the band put into this album over the past decade and half is abundantly obvious. As with their debut, the exquisitely painstaking craftsmanship, the overriding sense of joy and wonder, the ears wide open to an infinite universe of sonic possibility are all there. It sounds like the Avalanches, and nothing else does.
