The Jetliners at the Taj Mahal, Bombay. However, back at Almeida Park in Bandra, the passage of time would not be kind to Mina Kava, the man who created the first-ever Indo-pop hit. In conversations with him over the years, I would learn about feuds with his record company about royalty payments, quarrels about property and other baroque disappointments too complicated for me to understand. The iconic Taj Mahal Palace has been historically representing Mumbai along with the Gateway of India in the postcard shot. To sing rhapsodies of its long standing history to serve its guests with honor and delight will be equal to describing the obvious and an accepted fact. Yet at the risk of sounding patronizing, I will say that for every leisure luxury traveler to Mumbai and India a journey initiated here is a journey well begun. The Taj Mahal Palace has been iconic for its gourmet traditions with Shamiana and The Golden Dragon restaurant crossing over 42 years and 25 years respectively and still loved by the patrons with much enthusiasm. Masala Kraft is another great restaurant that is known for its authenticity of Indian cuisine. The tower wing of Taj is best suited for the speedy affairs of the business class jet setting around the country and the continents closing deals.
