Album · 2006 · 9 Songs. Write Your Own History Field Music. Listen on Apple Music.

Field Music's debut record was one of the more pleasant surprises of 2005. Their brand of smart, sharp, and melody-rich power pop can be about the best kind of music on the planet when done right. To tide over fans smitten by the debut, the band released a collection of B-sides and early songs. Write Your Own History doesn't last long, the nine tracks skittering past in a flash but lingering pleasantly. The vocal harmonies are stunning, the melodies are sunshine on a cloudy day, and the arrangements are precise and clean

Fix in Music Library. Write Your Own History" was intended to keep the fans happy while Field Music created their second album "Tones of Town," but it has some lovely pop tunes in its own right.

In 2005 Field Music became their chosen moniker, and a self-titles album was released, followed by a tour. The latter as a three piece, as drummer English had left the band by now, opting to concentrate on another band project. In 2006 they follow up the increasing interest in the band with the release of the compilation Write Your Own History, a selection of B-side single tracks and previously unreleased material. In early 2007 their second production Tones of Town is released, followed by a short tour. In 2010 Field Music returns however. The Brewis brothers had obviously been more active than fans feared, as their new release turns out to be a massive double CD called Field Music (Measure). Another tour follows, this time with Kev Dosdale (keys, guitars) and Ian Black (bass) supplementing the family duo on stage.
