Fillmore East – June 1971 is a live album by The Mothers, released in 1971. It is the twelfth album in Frank Zappa's discography, and was produced by Zappa and mixed by Toby Foster. Fillmore East – June 1971 is a live concept-like album. It portrays a ain of the life of a rock band on the road as narrated by Frank Zappa, and contains many thematic elements that, because of time and budget constraints, couldn't be included in the similar movie 200 Motels

The of the Mothers is an out of print compilation album of early works by The Mothers of Invention. The album features a gatefold with some of the contemporary band members, such as Ian Underwood, Art Tripp, and Motorhead Sherwood. This was the first of numerous repackaged "Best Of" LPs put out by MGM that were not authorized by Frank Zappa. Mothermania is the only one that Zappa worked on and approved. Frank Zappa – guitar, conductor, vocals. Jimmy Carl Black – percussion, drums, vocals.

Opening with the nonconformist call to arms "Hungry Freaks, Daddy," Freak Out! quickly posits the Mothers of Invention as the antithesis of teen-idol bands, often with sneering mockeries of the teen-romance songs that had long been rock's commercial stock-in-trade. Despite his genuine emotional alienation and dissatisfaction with pop conventions, though, Frank Zappa was actually a skilled pop composer; even with the raw performances and his stinging guitar work, there's a subtle sophistication apparent in his unorthodox arrangements and tight, unpredictable melodicism.

There are some debut albums that truly stand out in music. My Generation and Murmur both set fire to different musical areas of their time. Freak Out! is another one of those classic debut albums, introducing the musical world to the mad scientist of rock, Frank Zappa. A true musical genius, Zappa made it okay to write weird rock music. With his distinctive writing style, guitar work, and sardonic wit, he was a rarity in rock music - a true composer

Frank zappa and the mothers of invention - absolutely free lp NM vinyl. Other non-prog songs like "Plastic people" are great too, even if I don't particularly appreciate all the lyrics. From a musical point of view, this is as crazy as it gets, but luckily we get a slight overview of the great prog music that is to come. The Mothers of Invention American Pageant" is not quite as good as "Absolutely Free", but it still has its strong points. America Drinks" starts this side of the album and it is a really shoddy spoof of an American cabaret lounge that is really a complete lack of substance, although I do enjoy the drumming by Jimmy Carl Black.
