Right on time’ too. With every single being a pleasant surprise this one comes no differently. How they manage it I’ll never know, but for me, they are nothing short of superheroes. Be there or be square. The following two tabs change content below.

British funk-soul collective Jungle are becoming as well-known for their playful, choreographed videos as their ebullient strain of kitchen sink-inspired funk. Jungle and 9 Other Artists You Need to Know. Last year, the group released the minimalist Platoon, a low-budget video that eschewed each member’s face in lieu of 6-year-old B-girl Terra. Now, one week before the release of their eponymous debut album, the group have released an equally dance-heavy clip for Time, this time trading in youthful breakdancers with two dance veterans. Co-directed by Oliver Hadlee Pearch, who helmed all of the group’s previous videos, alongside founding member Josh Lloyd-Watson, the clip finds two middle-aged man rising from armchairs to engage in separate bouts of manic, joyful dancing.

Their debut album was nominated for the Mercury, their live shows are magnets for critical hyperbole, and their four singles (Platoon, Busy Earnin’, Time and The Heat) have somehow made ’70s funk into one of the hippest vibes of the past two years. But the most compelling thing about Jungle is their music videos, all of which carry a sense of unaffected self-expression through dance.

Bad Decisions Lyrics. Love me, leave me Rhythm of the evening, chasing a good time London's burning If the world is ending, let's stay up all night. Do you remember what you said to me? 'Cause we lost track of time Yeah, we lost track of time You always let me down so tenderly So live fast and die young and stay forever numb

Throughout their first album, they favor the bantamweight soul reminiscent of early '80s British acts like Imagination, Fun Boy Three, I-Level and Fine Young Cannibals, to name but a few. But it’s the group’s sense of simple, dance-focused visuals that have attained a certain level of buzz. Too often, Jungle’s shimmering surfaces belie the flimsiness of the songs themselves, which buckle under any sort of weight. Take opener The Heat, a catchy, light funk number which manages to shoehorn in three separate heat references in under 10 seconds: actual temperature, sexual intensity, and the police (via a sample of wailing sirens).
