Flash and the Pan's fourth album was released in 1984, and was another one that was popular all over Europe. Contemporary Swedish garage-rock outfit the Hives covered the title track in 2010 for a Virgin Mobile commercial, while single Midnight Man was a huge hit on the dance/rave scene. The instrumental version of the title track, which appeared on a Dutch Maxi single in 1985 is included here as a bonus track. Booklet with authoritative and extensive liner notes written by respected Record Collector journalist Michael Heatley. A marked difference between "Early Morning Wake Up Call" and Headlines is the distinctive use of computer drums, which for some may feel slightly irritating. The songwriting is as always top notch, and the album offers both hits and experiments. The biggest hit was the very catchy "Midnight Man" with its characteristic table tennis beat.

A1. Early Morning Wake Up Call. Early Morning Wake Up Call ‎(LP, Album, Promo).

But waiting, there was someone waiting for you Claiming a piece of everything that you do It seems I've heard your story all before Someone's standing knocking at your door Your early morning wake up call The bags are packed and in the hall The managers ran off with all the money that you made. You get on stage nearly every night You work around till you get it right And you dig it, and you dig it And then you sign for a record deal And off you go on the music wheel And you dig it, and you dig it. But waiting, there was someone waiting for you Claiming a piece of everything that you.

Flash and the Pan were an Australian new wave musical group (essentially an ongoing studio project) formed in 1976 by Harry Vanda and George Young, both former members of the Easybeats; they were a production and songwriting team as Vanda & Young. The group's first chart success was their 1976 debut single, "Hey, St. Peter", which reached number five in the Australian Kent Music Report Singles Chart .
