The Piano Concerto No. 15, is a work for piano and orchestra completed by Johannes Brahms in 1858. The composer gave the work's public debut in Hanover, the following year. It was his first-performed orchestral work, and (in its third performance) his first orchestral work performed to audience approval. This concerto is written in the traditional three movements and is approximately 40 to 50 minutes long.

Brahms: Piano Concerto No. 2, Beethoven: Piano Sonata No. 23,Op. 57 ~ Richter Audio CD. Johannes Brahms. Brahms: The Piano Concertos; Fantasia Audio CD. Gilels and Reiner make a fine team. Tempi are appropriate if a bit on the brisk side. The taut sound Reiner created with the Chicago Symphony is the perfect complement to Gilels' clear and transparent pianism.

It reappears here in the SACD format and sounds cleaner and more detailed than ever before; yet the advanced technology only goes so far and this disc may disappoint audiophiles. Because RCA has carefully preserved its Living Stereo master tapes, it is relatively easy to reproduce them. Piano Concerto No. 1. Maestoso.
