The Jam - Sound Affects album mp3

Sound Affects, the fifth album by The Jam, is a little jarring compared to All Mod Cons and Setting Sons because it has such a strong live sound in comparison with earlier work and is far, far more danceable. You can hear James Brown, late 70s post punk, and Sam Cooke all over this album, and "Scrape Away", the last track, resembles "Shout", with Weller, Foxton, and Buckler gleefully jamming on the chorus in the last few minutes (though they were clearly smart enough to stop when they were ahead).
Sound Affects is an important Jam album for one reason above all though - for all the talk on previous Jam records about Foxtons melodic basslines carrying the tune and Bucklers solid drumming grounding the songs, Sound Affects is ostensibly Paul Wellers album and was born out of his desire for R & B ad. psychedelia-themed experimentation.

But Sound Affects, the Jam’s 1980 release, trumps those achievements in its ambition. Many a hippie music teacher has rambled about uniting the world through song, and in choosing the title he did, Weller, in his own misanthropic way, was praising music’s ability to make an emotional connection with its listeners. It’s also a testament to the nods to psychedelia running throughout the album, from the dreamy feel of Monday to reverb echoes on a variety of songs. Though they reach for homage, the music is clearly their own.
The Gift is the sixth and final studio album by English new wave/mod revival band the Jam. It was originally released on 12 March 1982 by Polydor as the follow-up to the Jam's critically and commercially successful 1980 album Sound Affects. The songs were largely recorded during 1981 to 1982, assisted by Peter Wilson, and is generally regarded as the culmination of the smoother, more adult-oriented sound of the band's later work

I am 13 and I can say this is better than the modern rubbish. Modern World and Sound Affects. Takes me back! That's Entertainment just gets to me.
Sound Affects is Paul Weller’s favourite Jam album. This could be because it sounds fresh as he says, or it could be because it’s a self-contained piece of Weller himself – at least the bits he would respect and revisit.
