The Kampen Janitsjarorkester is a Norwegian marching wind band from the neighbourhood of Kampen in Oslo. The wind orchestra was founded 10 September 1929. Kampen Wind Orchestra is made up of only men. The orchestra plays most often locally in Oslo, but also in the rest of the country and occasionally abroad. The orchestra has led to a number of fields for band, although there has been an active member of this movement. The orchestra has gone their separate ways when it comes to musical styles, content and execution has been at the center . Oslo city's art award was divided between the fight Wind Orchestra and conductor Frode Thingnæs in 1995. Battle Wind Orchestra is an honorary member cabinet of New Orleans.

Frode Thingnæs (20 March 1940 – 15 November 2012) was a Norwegian jazz composer, arranger, conductor, trombone player, married on 2 June 1979 to actor and drama teacher Marianne Mørk (b. 16 May 1953) and they gave birth to the pianist Magnus Alexander Mørk Thingnæs (b. 1984), and filmmaker Maren Victoria Thingnæs (b. 1991). He formed the quintet Frode Thingnæs Quintet. 1990: Sing as we Go (Kampen Janitsjar). 2002: From Kampen to New Orleans (Kampen Janitsjar). 2008: Samspill(Kampen Janitsjar). Frode Thingnæs (20 March 1940 - 15 November 2012) was a Norwegian jazz composer, arranger, conductor, trombone player, married on 2 June 1979 to actor and drama teacher Marianne Mørk (b. 1984), and Filmstudent, Maren Victoria Thingnæs. Thingnæs picked up the trumpet at eight, when he started to play in Sinsen school band. In 1953 he switched to trombone. 1980: Spellemannprisen in the class Jazz for the album Direct to Dish. 1999: The Norwegian King's Medal of Merit in gold. 1999: Honorary citizen of New Orleans.
