Alto Saxophone, Flute – Ray Warleigh. Composed By – Warleigh (tracks: 1 to 5, 7 to 10), Marsh (tracks: 1 to 5, 7 to 10).

Remarkably, this is saxophonist Ray Warleigh's second solo album; his first-ingeniously entitled Ray Warleigh's First Album (Philips, 1968)-was produced by none other than Scott Walker. In the intervening years, Warleigh has been an active session player, appearing on albums as diverse as Nick Drake's Bryter Layter (Island, 1970), Soft Machine's Bundles (Harvest, 1975) and The Dedication Orchestra's Spirits Rejoice (Ogun, 1992)

Ray Warleigh (born 28 September 1938 in Sydney, NSW, Australia - died 21 September 2015) was an UK-based (since 1960) alto saxophonist and flutist.

Warleigh recorded his first album as leader - aptly titled Ray Warleigh's First Album (Philips) - in 1968. Despite Warleigh's decades-long involvement in a wide variety of performing and recording settings, he wouldn't release his second album as a leader, Rue Victor Massé, an improvisational jazz outing that paired him with drummer Tony Marsh, until 2008. Warleigh died of cancer in September 2015 at the age of 76. ~
