One Man Revolution Lyrics. On the streets of New York The cabs don't stop On the street where I live They called the cops. Found a noose in my garage Now how 'bout that So tonight I'm in the bushes With a baseball bat. 'Cause I'm a one man, I'm a one man I'm a one man revolution I'm a one man, I'm a one man I'm a one man revolution. The time is nigh, the day is dark There's only one solution I'm a one man, I'm a one man I'm a one man revolution

Why" He is a one man revolution, of course. According to Morello, The Nightwatchman is the black Robin Hood of the 21st century. That might be true; he is stealing from some of the greatest folk artists and trying to make it his own. He tries to sound like Johnny Cash while singing the protest songs of Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen. Instead, One Man Revolution sounds like a monotonous funeral dirge. Musically, this album is just as poor as the lyrics. Most of the album is just Morello and an acoustic guitar playing predictable, repetitive chord progressions. Morello’s guitar work is great throughout the entire album, as he is an accomplished guitarist, and the production is clear with Brendan O’Brien behind the soundboard, but those are the only redeeming qualities of the album.

Tom Morello's first album under his Nightwatchman persona was out to destroy his old reputation as an electric guitar gunslinger for Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave. While he keeps the political bent of RATM in full blast, he's decided that a whisper will work better than a scream. So now he's channeling Woody Guthrie, Pete Seger and Bruce Springsteen ala "Ghost of Tom Joad.
