Fred Neil is the second album from Fred Neil, a pioneer folk rock musician. The album has a more laid-back sound than his debut, and contains his best-known songs; "Everybody's Talkin' " and "The Dolphins". It was re-released in 1969 under the title Everybody's Talkin' in response to the international success of the soundtrack of the movie Midnight Cowboy, which made a hit of the new title track for Harry Nilsson

Federico "Fred" Díaz Elizalde (December 12, 1907 – January 16, 1979) was a Spanish Filipino classical and jazz pianist, composer, conductor, and bandleader influential in the British dance band era. Biography. Elizalde was born in Manila on December 12, 1907 to José Joaquín Elizalde and Carmen Díaz Moreau. He was a brother of diplomat Joaquin ("Mike"), Manuel ("Manolo"), Juan Miguel, Angel and Carmenchu Elizalde. Elizalde criticized British dance music for its Viennese qualities and sought to bring more American principles of rhythm to the British scene. He recorded with his band in 1927 under several ensemble names for Brunswick and Decca, including the Cambridge Undergraduates. In his run at the Savoy Hotel in London, his band featured many of the best players in early British jazz, including Norman Payne, Jack Jackson, and Harry Hayes, as well as Americans such as Chelsea Quealey, Bobby Davis, Fud Livingston, Adrian Rollini, and Arthur Rollini.

Fred Elizalde laid the groundwork for his later in-depth studies with the brilliant composer Maurice Ravel by himself scribbling out a minuet at the ripe age of four. Both brothers were shipped around to only the best schools - besides the aforementioned Cambridge there was Stanford University in California where, at only 16, Elizalde assumed leadership of the Stanford University Band for a Biltmore Hotel gig in Los Angeles.

Pianist-arranger Fred Elizalde is best known (such as he is) for his work in England in the late '20s. Particularly obscure are the nine titles that he cut in Hollywood in June 1926, all with a five-horn nonet except his unaccompanied piano solo on "Siam Blues. The performances are superior hot dance band sides, including "That Certain Feeling" and "Boneyard Shuffle.
