New York City's extensive subway system consists of more than two dozen lines serving all five boroughs, while dozens of bus routes provide above-ground service. Regional buses and trains also connect the city to suburbs in New Jersey, Connecticut and New York state. Traffic delays at surrounding bridges and tunnels are common, especially during peak rush hours. In short, a car simply isn't your best option.

A designated New York City landmark, City Hall is one of the most treasured buildings in Manhattan. The elegant design of the early 19th century building contrasts starkly with the many highrises in the area. New York's oldest monument is Cleopatra's Needle, an Egyptian obelisk that was originally erected in 1443 BC in the ancient city of Heliopolis. It is now in Central Park, where it was erected in 1881.

Whereas the first came out contemporaneously the Live In New York City album was released posthumously in 1986. Recorded on 30 August 1972 at Madison Square Garden, Lennon performed two shows, one in the afternoon and one in the evening, to raise money for children with mental health issues. Released in February 1986, the album made the US charts on 22 March and peaked shortly after at N. 1. Backing Lennon and Yoko Ono were Elephant’s Memory, who played on Some Time in New York City. The material that was performed was largely drawn from John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, Imagine and Some Time in New York City, but also included ‘Come Together’ from the Beatles’ Abbey Road and covered Elvis Presley’s ‘Hound Dog’ before finishing with, ‘Give Peace a Chance’.
