What's New is an album of traditional pop standards released by American oducer Linda Ronstadt in 1983. It represents the first in a trilogy of 1980s albums Ronstadt recorded with bandleader/arranger Nelson Riddle. John Kosh designed the album covers for all three albums. The album spawned a major change in popular culture because Ronstadt was then considered the leading female vocalist in rock.

Instead of trying to compete with a newer, fashion-conscious pop marketplace, Linda Ronstadt removed herself from the rat race, recording an album of traditional pop standards with Nelson Riddle. Ronstadt's voice isn't always showcased to a fine effect on these songs, but the record is an interesting change of pace. And it would have been more interesting if she hadn't repeated its formula on her next two records.

Happily, Linda Ronstadt recorded a delightfully authentically Mexican album, "Canciones de mi Padre", on which her earthy, passionate quality can really shine. For any fan of Mexican style, she performs admirably. Honestly, I think a book could be written about this album. At this point, I'll spare everybody and leave it at just this-. If you don't love this album then you don't have a drop of romance in your soul.
It peaked at on Billboard's Pop Album Chart and on Billboard's Country Album Chart. It is considered to be a front-runner in the country rock music genre.
