I am disappointed in the "Dark Was The Night" cover, can't say the Kronos Quartet did much with it. I'd just assume hear the original song, it's too similar and not nearly as haunting or genuine and soulful. Much of the album seem to be B-side material, so I would go into it with that thought in mind. And let's be honest, most of this music, sans a few artists, are bands that basicaly mimic sounds and bands from the late 60's and 70's. And in the case of Sharon Jones, literally mimic 70's R&B radio fare.
